How is a design created?
It could be as simple as hiring an external designer to print the design on a blank standard hoodie using mediocre printing technology. But that is not what we aim to do.
Our designs usually come to life in our heads, on the road in the van, on the water with the kite or in an airport lounge. Inspired by our passion for kitesurfing, foiling on the beautiful beaches of the world. We imaginatively embellish the ideas and Mila quickly captures them in her sketchbook. Mostly on the road, especially after our sessions on the water. If the wind lets us down, Mila unpacks her tablet and conjures up a first draft from the sketch with great attention to detail. Often it doesn't stop at a draft and we tinker with the motif and the choice of color until we are 100% happy with it.
We then print the design on an A2 poster to hang framed in our hallway. If we still like it after two weeks, we have passed the first test. To get a feel for how the design will look on a hoodie or t-shirt, we manually print a print using a transfer press on a DTF transfer film onto a sample hoodie. If we still like it, the design is ready for production.
We want to combine streetwear with kite/wing/surf fashion, which is why the right cut and fabric is very important to us. In order to find the perfect cut, we produced over 10 different cuts over 10 months to find the perfect fit. After successful long-term wear and wash tests, the product is ready for production and your order.
Packed with love by us, we will send your new favorite piece directly to your home as long as you live in Europe ;)
We really hope that you will enjoy our Mijosurf products.
